Sydvaranger's production facilities are located adjacent to the towns of Kirkenes and Bjørnevatn in Northern Norway.  

The Sydvaranger resource consists of several magnetite iron deposits with indicated resources of 475 Mt and inferred resources of 43 Mt. The mine at Bjørnevatn is connected via a 8 km rail line to a concentrator facility and ice-free port at Kirkenes, which provides direct access to the Barents Sea. Sydvaranger is the owner and sole user of the railway, and has secured priority access to the port through long term contract arrangements with Tschudi Bulk Terminals AS.
