Sydvaranger Gruve AS is working on several different projects for product development. What is particularly interesting is the processing of concentrate for pellet through the construction of a pellet plant in Kirkenes. Production of raw materials for DR pellets and super-pure iron ore products are also under consideration. This will lead to greater investment and more jobs in Sør-Varanger. It also means that large parts of the value creation happens through the processing of jernmalkonsentartet will take place in Sør-Varanger, rather than abroad. Common to all these different products is that we are going to have to make use of flotation in order to achieve adequate quality iron ore concentrate.
