Peter Steiness Larsen

Peter has an MSc in Finance from the Copenhagen Business School. He has 30 years of working experience primarily within project financing and project development. Prior experience includes shipping and ship financing with Burmeister & Wain Shipyard; international project financing and project development within the energy sector with Elsam Project and trading and origination with Enron. Since 2004, he has held the position as CFO with the Tschudi Group and has had significant involvement with the mining operation in Kirkenes since Tschudi acquired the mining assets in 2006.

Antony Beckmand

Chief Executive Officer
Tony is a qualified CPA with a B.Com from the University of Western Australia and a Grad. Dip in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. Tony has over 20 years’ experience in financial, commercial and corporate roles including 10 years with Sydvaranger in both CFO and MD/CEO roles. Previous experience within the mining industry has been with Exxaro Resources, Perilya Ltd and Robe River Iron Associates across a range of commodities including iron ore, minerals sands, base metals and gold.

Thomas Bækø

Chief Operating Offier
Thomas joined Sydvaranger in January 2009, contributing to the construction, commissioning and operations teams. He was born and raised in the Kirkenes region. After the commission phase, Thomas held the position of production superintendent. From 2011 until 2013, he became production manager at a large iron ore project in West Africa. In that role his responsibilities were operational readiness, commissioning, maintenance and operations. From 2014 and up to November 2015, Thomas returned as the processing manager at Sydvaranger before re-joining the project in April 2016 as a project manager and later moved to the role of COO.

Melinda Moore

Sales & Marketing Director
Melinda holds a B.Ec (Hons) from Monash University and a Grad. Dip in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. She has over 25 years’ experience working in investing, financing, strategy, risk management and commercial roles, servicing the global steel, mining & energy industries. She has previously worked with BHP Billiton as a commodity marketing strategist and more recently, with the world’s largest Bank, ICBC in commodity sales and financing origination. Melinda also serves on the executive committee of Women in Mining UK (www.womeninmining.org.uk) as Finance Director and Head of the Global Outreach Committee.
